"Perhaps fishing, is for me, only an excuse to be near rivers." Roderick Haig-Brown, A River Never Sleeps, 1946
My primary goal for theSteelhead Journal is to educate steelheader's in all aspects of Great Lakes steelhead fly fishing with a special emphasis on the Lake Erie steelhead fishery known as "Steelhead Alley" (a region which encompasses the Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York steelhead tributaries of Lake Erie).
In the pages of theSteelhead Journal (as well as in my Steelhead Guide book editions and magazine articles) I also try to project my philosophy on fly fishing by promoting catch-and-release fishing, the art, science and tradition of fly fishing, and most importantly, respect for fellow fly fisherman, private landowner's and the environment.
Tight lines, John Nagy
